I got an interesting story to tell this time. Hahaha. Umm.. Yesterday, after Jersey, my roommate fixed my bicycle brakes, I biked down to the movie theater to watch some movies (speed racer and Narnia : Prince Caspian), seeing it was Friday and I got nothing to do.

When I got there, I parked my bicycle and the bike rack. Just when I was trying to tie up my bike to the bike rack, there was this one old guy. He was looking at the big motor cycles that parked beside the bike rack. Seeing I was the only one riding bicycle, he asked:

"You’re really gonna park that here?"

"Yes," I answered

"Aren’t you ashamed to park your bicycle beside all these(the big motor cycles)?"
"No. Why should I?" I asked.
"I would," he said.
"Not me. I’m proud of it," I answered back. Then I just laughed, clicked my bike chain, and went off inside the movie theater building.

Yep. Why should I be ashamed of my bicycle? It’s one of the most magnificent human invention in history. It’s one of the most effective saving tool : no gas money, no pollution, and no need to pay membership in fitness centers anymore. Yep, I’m proud of riding bicycle, proud of being one of people who tried not to contribute to global warming. LOL. And proud that this way, I can use the money to pay college tuition instead of paying gas.

Whew… Finals week is over. I just saw my grades for Spring semester and, wow, all As again. Phiuh… All those hard works aren’t for nothing. But what I got from this semester’s finals week is not just knowledge or a 4.0 GPA or anything. Instead, I got a question asked, more like a rhetorical question.

We know that these past few weeks, the gas price has been increasing. in place where I live, America, I see it clearly. I think we can say that the one thing most people watch at street side is the gas price.

Now we move a little bit off the topic. On Wednesday, because I was waived from taking Physics final, I helped Jay do the Finals Week Treat. This is just a small event by student senate to give students FREE breakfast on finals week. On that day, we serve rice crispy bars, kool-aids, and cereals. We even have the bowls and the gallons of milks.

There was this one person. She came to us and said, "Ooo… Cereals. Are these free?" "Yes," we said. And then she continued, "I never eat cereal anymore at home. It’s getting expensive, you know. $4 a box. It’s already like gas price. You gotta decide, cereal or gas for your car? No matter what, you gotta have gas for your car…"

So the question is, is food no more a primary need for us human? Now gas for car is more important than fuel for our body in the morning?

Ahh… yes, been a long time since I last posted anything. Been busy with school. Hehehehe. Final exam coming up. So, for my comrades in school back in Indonesia, the best of luck with your National Exam!! Don’t take it lightly, but don’t take it too hard either. We’ll strive together!!! ^^
